چکیده

We would like to make the following corrections of our paper (Int J Biol Sci 2009; 5:647-658) . On Page 649, the sentence “Mckenzie in 1981 first described the centralization phenomenon, which consists of pain in the central line of the spine upon lateral movement” should be replaced by “McKenzie in 1981 first defined the centralization phenomenon as a rapid change in the location of pain from a distal or peripheral location to a more proximal or central position”. The following Table A corrects the row of “Donelson R et al.” (the first row under heading), and Table B corrects the row of “Laslett M et al.” (the third row under heading) in Table 1.

The value of radiographic indexes in the diagnosis of discogenic low back pain: a retrospective analysis of imaging results

To explore value of different radiographic indexes in the diagnosis of discogenic low back pain (LBP). A total number of 120 cases (60 patients diagnosed with discogenic LBP and 60 healthy people) were retrospectively analysed to identify factors in the diagnosis of discogenic LBP by using univariate and multivariate analyses. A receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was drew to show the...

Diagnosis and treatment of discogenic low back pain.

Low back pain (LBP) is very prevalent in the general population. Treatment of nonradicular back pain, in the absence of deformity, continues to be controversial. Recently, anatomic dissections, magnetic resonance imaging studies, and the use of provocative discograms (pain-related response during the injection similar to the typical pattern of pain reported prior to the procedure) have contribu...

Clinical diagnosis for discogenic low back pain

Discogenic lower back pain (DLBP) is the most common type of chronic lower back pain (LBP), accounting for 39% of cases, compared to 30% of cases due to disc herniation, and even lower prevalence rates for other causes, such as zygapophysial joint pain. Only a small proportion (approximately 20%) of LBP cases can be attributed with reasonable certainty to a pathologic or anatomical entity. Thus...

Evaluation of the L2 spinal nerve root infiltration as a diagnostic tool for discogenic low back pain.

BACKGROUND To assess whether unilateral L2 infiltration with local anesthetic can be used to identify patients who will have negative discograms and thus eliminate the need for the discogram. Discogenic low-back pain is considered to have afferent pathways in the sinuvertebral nerves, mainly originating from the ventral rami of the spinal nerves. There is evidence that pain arising from the low...
